One of the most important places to clean is your bathroom, but how to keep a bathroom clean might seem like an impossible task. But it’s not about deep cleaning bathrooms daily, it’s more about maintaining a bathroom so that it’s pleasant for anyone who needs to use it.
If you are tackling any cleaning area more frequently than you might expect, the cleaning process is often quicker than you ever imagined.
It’s not about the length of time you are cleaning but the frequency that makes all the difference.
This is the same for a lot of cleaning processes, the more you clean the less dirty it is so the quicker you can clean it.
How To Simply And Easily Keep A Bathroom Clean?
The easy answer to this question is to clean it and clean it often but sometimes it’s more about what to clean than everything else.
I have found over the years that the more you clean the easier the cleaning becomes because it’s not as dirty as perhaps it could be if you left it a month between cleans.
So, more frequent cleaning means the cleaning session is short and that’s always a positive start in my book.
Always clean the toilet last, this is something that I’ve always been taught but that is if you are using the same cleaning cloth that you cleaned the rest of the bathroom with.
I use toilet paper to wipe over the toilet, and I try to do this daily, at least once a day.
For the sink, shower, and bath you can in my opinion clean these in any order that you find works well for you.

How Often Should You Clean Your Bathroom?
This is going to be a personal preference and related to the number of people living in your home.
The more people, the more you will need to clean to keep the bathrooms nice for everyone to use.
What’s important is that you are comfortable with the current cleanliness of your bathroom if someone was to drop around and need to use the bathroom.
If you find that you wouldn’t be comfortable with someone using your bathroom then you need to clean it more frequently.
So, with that said you want to be cleaning the toilet and sink daily, not a deep clean but still keeping it clean. The rest of the bathroom at least weekly is ideal.

How To Keep The Bathroom Clean Every Day?
You are going to need to work out how you address your cleaning for your bathroom. What works for one person isn’t going to work for another because we are all different.
However, the most important part of this is cleaning the areas that need your attention daily.
However, this doesn’t mean that you can skip the daily cleaning. You deserve to use a clean bathroom and so that means you will need to clean it.
Cute Bathroom Accessories
If you want your bathroom to look amazing the best thing you can do is to find accessories that shout out your style, I love these great ideas:
- Personalized Bath Towels

- Sparkle Exchange Bathtub Tray
- Sheep Toilet Roll Holders
What Is The Best Order To Clean Your Bathroom
I did mention this before, if you use a cloth to clean your toilet then this needs to be one of the last things you clean.
Never clean the toilet and then move on to the other areas like the sink or the bath.
If you use a cloth for toilet cleaning, think about having a separate cloth just for the toilet.
I then like to clean the bath and shower before moving onto the sink. A sink is a place that I like to use right up to the moment I’m about to clean it so, it becomes off limits from that point which its turn is right before the toilet is cleaned.

Creating A Simple Bathroom Cleaning Routine
If you want to do things on autopilot then you need a cleaning routine, one that you just do. Often, this means it’s part of a routine when you reach a certain point of your day. It could be part of your morning routine or even your evening routine.
I like to do mine in the morning, then it’s done for the day and I don’t have to think about it. But for the deeper weekly cleans, I don’t do these first thing, I plan them into my week depending on what tasks or appointments I have for the week.
- Clean sink
- Wipe sink faucet
- Clean sink plug
- Clean sink drain
- Wipe window sill
- Clean shower door
- Scrub shower tiles
- Wash walls
- Polish mirrors
- Clean toilet
- Clean behind toilet
- Mop floors
- Clean towel cupboard
- Clean bath
- Clean bath plug
- Clean bath drain
- Clean window
- Clean light cord
- Clean light
But for the actual cleaning, I like to follow a checklist of the tasks that need doing, this way I don’t have to think about the tasks that are already there in front of me in black and white.
Bathroom Cleaning Habits
The best thing when it comes to cleaning your bathroom is to create habits. A habit is something that you do automatically and without thinking.
This is one of the best options I’ve found, if I do things in a certain order then the rest of the tasks fall into place because I’ve done them a lot.
It’s about repeating the steps you need to do in order to clean your bathroom. Once you have a pattern that works for you it’s just about repeating it forever.
But How Do I Keep My Bathroom Clean And Fresh?
I think this is a question I’m asked a lot and the simple answer is to clean it often. Also, open a window for the air to circulate, you don’t want smells to linger.
It really is that simple, the more you clean it the longer it will stay looking clean.
