Bathroom Cleaning Maintenance
This is where the system that you implement comes into play, if you want your bathroom to look clean all the time you have to take the time daily to reset it and upkeep the cleaning.
The advantage of cleaning with this method is simple, you don’t spend hours cleaning bathrooms, 10 – 15 minutes per day is all you need.
You are re-setting the bathroom to how you want it to look, this can mean wiping over the sink and toilet daily and tackling one or two other small cleaning projects in the bathroom and that’s it until the next day.
Maintenance Cleaning Is Easier
Often I see people spending hours cleaning and whilst this is good, it’s just not me.
Ten to twenty minutes max is all I can manage, I want things done and I don’t have time to dedicate hours to a particular cleaning task.
That is it, you just keep on top of the tasks that need cleaning and you fit them into your day and it’s done.
Benefits Of Daily Bathroom Cleaning
The most important benefit for me is not having an hour to clean the bathroom in one go.
I have lots of things to do and I work a full-time job, I want things done quickly, and that means I don’t have time to spend hours a day cleaning!
I know this might shock many of you but I don’t have the time in my day for hours of cleaning.
I just have these short gaps in my day where I get the cleaning done in small bursts and it works and works well.
Create A List Of Tasks To Clean The Bathroom
When it comes to maintenance cleaning you need to know what cleaning needs to be done and when.
So for me, my cleaning list looks like this:
- toilet
- sink
- bath taps
- bath
- shower door
- shower tiles
- walls
- skirting
- mirrors
- window sills
- baseboards
- light switch
- light
- window
- ceiling
- bath panel
- floor
- grout
- bathroom cupboard outside
- bathroom cupboard inside
I do the sink and the toilet daily and then I go through my list to see which items need doing and when they were last done so I know that all areas of the bathroom get done.
Each task can be done in 10 minutes or less and this means I don’t have to spend an hour cleaning the bathroom.
Weekly Deep Cleans
Do I still do a weekly deep clean? No, because I keep on top of the maintenance of the bathroom cleaning I leave my deeper cleaning for every other week.
Because the room is kept clean, deeper cleaning of the room doesn’t take long at all because the majority of the time it isn’t dirty.
So a deeper bathroom clean takes me 20 minutes because everything is kept up to a clean standard that I have set for myself.
Saving me time on the weekend for things I want to do.
