Bathroom Cleaning Hacks To Change Your Life
Cleaning the bathroom doesn’t have to feel like a chore that needs to be done weekly or just before visitors turn up.
There are tasks that you can do daily that are quick and simple and will keep your bathroom looking good without much effort on your part.
Check out these simple tips and ideas that will make keeping your bathroom looking good a breeze.
The Essential Tools and Supplies
Having the right equipment to do the tasks that are going to make the job easier for you is essential.
Who wants to work hard when there are products that can help you make a task even easier?
- Having the right cloths, the E-cloth for the bathroom has a cleaning cloth and polishing cloth, both are important in the bathroom.
- Silver-infused cloths stop germs and bacteria from growing on the cloth, these are perfect for cleaning the toilet.
- A cream cleaner that you like, most of these work the same it’s about finding one that you like the smell of.
- A mop and bucket if you have a washable floor.
Time-Saving Strategies For Clean Bathroom Hacks
Saving time or using your time more effectively is what I mean here, it’s not about being able to turn the clock backward but more importantly using the time we have more efficiently.
Having daily habits that you do in the bathroom will help to keep your bathroom looking clean.
- Wiping down your sink and any countertops
- Cleaning the toilet
- Keeping your bath and shower dry
Whilst these are simple tasks they will help to reduce the time spent when you do have to clean. Keeping your bath and shower dry will reduce the potential limescale build-up that can happen if water is left to sit on surfaces.
A clean toilet is just a nice thing to do, no one likes using a dirty toilet. Wiping down your sink and countertops daily makes the room look nicer and you don’t have to deep clean so often.
Shower and Tub Transformation Tips And Ideas
When it comes to showers and bathtubs there are so many things that can make it look gross. Mold is one of them, it loves to grow in damp places which is why if you are drying your bath and shower after each use it does reduce its growth.
But what can you do to prevent mold from happening at all? There are mold spores in the air in your home, you would have to have an air purifier if you wanted to remove all mold spores.

However, there are ways to reduce the chance of mold spores landing on your surfaces and starting to grow. Ventilation is the key, if the spores can’t land they can’t grow and if you have air moving using ventilation then this reduces the risk of them landing and growing.
You can make a mold-removing spray with tea tree oil and water, not only does this kill the mold it can also prevent it from growing in the first place.
You can read more here about killing mold.
Sparkling Sinks And Countertops: Cleaning Hacks For Bathrooms
One of the simplest things you can do to make your sinks and countertops look better is to have less clutter on them.
Organizing your products not only makes the spaces pleasing but it also means that it’s easier to keep clean.
If you use the E-cloth, you don’t even need any products because they remove 99% of germs and bacteria with just water.
Cleaning Hacks For The Bathroom
With the toilet being an item that is used frequently by all members of your home and visitors too, keeping it clean and smell-free is important.
The easiest way to remove smells is by having a window open to let the room ventilate. This isn’t something that you can do in the winter, but even 5 minutes a day will have a positive benefit.
Eliminating smells starts with a clean toilet, not just inside the toilet but around the base and behind the toilet. Deep cleaning with a disinfectant spray is going to have the best results. Don’t forget to read the instructions before using.
If you have hard limescale deposits on the inside a pumice stone is one of the easiest and cheapest products to use. It works and it works well, it’s unfortunate that it does involve you scrubbing.
- Clean surfaces quickly and easily-porcelain, hard water stains, pool tiles, flush toilets, barbecue grills, steel and stone.

If you use bleach you are only bleaching the color of the limescale you aren’t getting rid of it.
Flooring Finesse The Simple Option
Bathroom floors need to be resistant to water, it’s where there is often a lot of water, especially if you have children.
But keeping it clean doesn’t have to be hard, if children splash water on the floor, you bet I use that water to give the floor a quick wipe!
Vacuuming daily can help reduce the dust gathering in the bathroom.
When it’s time for a deep clean it’s going to depend on the flooring you have. If you have grout please don’t use toilet cleaner to clean the grout. Use a cream cleaner with a grout brush, it’s safer for the grout too.
Eco-Friendly Approaches To Bathroom Cleaning Hacks
There are so many products out there and often they do contain a lot of chemicals so how can you clean your bathroom with eco-friendly products?
I love the Bower Collective for their eco-friendly products, not only do they come in plastic pouches, but these pouches are refillable and reusable by the company.
The Bower Collective limescale remover is more effective at its job than the chemically ladened Viakal products you can buy.
Eco-friendly doesn’t have to mean that it doesn’t work as well, the option to use white vinegar is still a good choice for bathroom cleaning.
Troubleshooting Common Bathroom Cleaning Challenges
If you are having problems with getting some areas of your bathroom cleaned let’s look at some solutions.
- If you are struggling with mold, tea tree oil mixed with water is a good way to get rid of it.
- For watermarks on glass, use some cream cleaner in a circular motion, and don’t forget to rinse, dry, and polish with a glass cloth.
- Rust is a tricky one, sometimes if you catch it early you can remove the rust using a cream cleaner, if it has gotten too bad it might not be savable.

Very helpful tips. I wasn’t familiar with silver-infused cloths.
I am so glad that you foound something new and useful. 🙂
I love using silver infused cloths for cleaning, this is my go to! Also, barkeepers friend (spray) is a really good solution to removing iron buildup, which is a very big issue in the areas surrounding me. Thank you for linking up with Hearts & Homes, I hope to see you again this week.
Thank you for your comments! I haven’t used the Barkeepers friend spray before. I’ve used their powder but didn’t rate it very good so haven’t tried their other products. Maybe I should give it a go!
