Tips To Organize Your Fridge Like A Professional
If you need some tips to organize your fridge like a professional, this article has all the information you need! There might be some items that you need to move, but just because something fits there doesn’t mean it’s in the right place!
You have to do what is right for the food, and what works for your family too! If you need to adjust something, remember that it will take practice to put it back in the new area!
The Best Way To Organize Your Fridge
In an ideal world you are supposed to have at the very top the food that doesn’t need cooking and the further down the fridge you go the food needs cooking at a hotter temperature!
Whilst, this might work in a restaurant, in practice in a home, it isn’t always as easy as that!
After all, the salad and fruit drawers are normally at the bottom of the fridge!
So, how do you keep all the areas of your fridge under control and in the right place?
- Don’t store raw meat in the fridge for long periods of time! Just keep the meat you are using in the next couple of days at the most in the fridge.
- Make sure you know the right areas for the different items that you store, including moving the milk from out of the door!
- Don’t buy so much food that your fridge is so full that you will never have the chance to eat it all before it goes off!
- Keeping it clean will help with the organizing too!
How To Organize Your Fridge Drawers And Shelves
When a fridge is created, things are not made easy for those people who end up using the item for years! You get some great models and some not so great models, you just have to work with what you’ve got!
For me, I can’t reach the back of the top shelf, it is too high and I’m too short!
Do you use the fruit and veg drawers? For a long time, I didn’t know what I was supposed to do! I don’t keep all fruit in the fridge, I don’t like cold apples or bananas!
You want a high humidity for vegetables and a lower humidity for fruit. In my fridge, I have two drawers, one I use for onions and the other for veg! I know you aren’t supposed to keep onions in the fridge but for me, it works!
On the shelves, you need to store your milk and any other products you will eat this week that needs to be kept cool!
Don’t over pack your shelves, you won’t see what items you have and things can easily get missed!
Always store raw meat as low as possible in your fridge, preferably in containers so it won’t drip onto other food!
