Smart Organizing
If you are struggling fitting in your routines and habits, then you might need to consider smart organizing. It is not about being perfect, having the perfectly cleaned home, and the tidiest of kitchen. However, it is about getting the jobs done more easily and efficiently without the stress.
Smart organizing is about getting the jobs completed, getting to meetings on time. It is about knowing what jobs need doing, but without the stress and the worry that often accompanies people who are just starting out on their organizing journey.
Smart organizing
It is about going slow; demanding too much from yourself can put too much pressure to conform. There is a limit with what you can achieve each day and constantly pushing yourself too hard can make the tasks seem never-ending. It can also make you rebel and end up not completing any of the tasks.
Give yourself time to get each task completed, there is little point starting more than one task at a time because this will increase your stress levels and you might not perform to your best. Slowing down could be the answer that you are looking for.
It is important that you start one job and finish that job before you move onto the next task. This can help to get you on track quicker than if you are attempting to cook tea, hoover the house, feed the dog; all these activities might need doing but it will be quicker and less stressful if you attempt just one task at a time.
The trick to organizing
You need to give yourself time to learn the habit and the task so that it becomes an automatic action at a set time of the day. It is important that you only add one new habit at a time, if you do too much then your mind can’t process the task that you are attempting to learn.
Organizing can seem to come natural for some people and they manage it perfectly. For others there is a middle ground somewhere between organized and living in chaos.
I have fought with the feeling of living in chaos, when in fact my home was clean and organized. I had a perfection issue that I couldn’t seem to get past, I had to let go of wanting everything to be perfect and this has helped to change my life. It has allowed me to realise that just because something isn’t perfect doesn’t mean that it isn’t clean and tidy. Letting go of my perfection has allowed me to accept that I don’t have to expect perfection from my family, I am able to accept their help.
This reduces stress, it allows you to relax and in the end, you can actually achieve a clean and organized home and relax too.
Therefore, by slowing down and accepting help I am able to achieve more, my home is more organized and I do have some time where I am able to sit down and relax.
