Clutter Clearing
There are times that it is important that you are able to remove the clutter from your home. It will make organizing your life easier and cleaning will become simpler, too. Having the skills that will enable you to remove clutter from your home is not an easy skill to learn.
Examples of clutter
For me, clutter means items in our homes that don’t belong there and can be removed. This removal can be in the form of the rubbish that needs to go in the bin, items that can be donated or sold and even returning items that you have borrowed from others.
How to get rid of clutter
It is important that you have ways that you are able to dispose of the items out of your home. Sometimes, items that we believe are things that you need and want, can sometimes be sold or donated or even thrown in the bin. It is important to understand the attachment you feel towards these items and the reasons behind it. If you can truly do without the items, then sometimes it is a great way to reduce the possessions that you have in your home. Also, there is the possibility of making money or allowing someone else to benefit from your generosity, if you donate the goods to a charity.
You need to make the decision as to what constitutes as clutter in your home. It could be to reduce the number of items that you have around your home that need dusting, like ornaments. Even clothes can be cluttering up your storage space. If you haven’t worn an item for 6 months, do you really need it?
If you have lots of books in your home, then selling or donating the books that you don’t love can be a great way of reducing the possessions that you own; and a great way of appreciating the items that you have.
Why reduce
The reason that many people need to reduce can be a financial one, many people are struggling with the money. A great way to make money is to sell items that you don’t want or need; this can free up ready cash and is a great way to afford items that you do need.
But be warned, if you start buying items to sell them on, this is a business and you will be liable to pay tax and to register as a business. If you fail to register and continue to make money then you will face prosecution.
Organized homes
If you have ever seen a person with a truly organized home, they are able to let go of their possessions when they are no longer needed. It is important that if you are looking for organization, then you need to consider the space that you have available. If you have limited space, as we all do, you can’t keep adding more items without removing some, too. This will make organizing the possessions that you have, easier and more manageable.
Some people have a system where if they bring a new item home, then they need to let go of an item they already possess.
Whatever option you choose, understanding what makes clutter is important. Clutter is when you have too many possessions; this can overwhelm your house and effect how easy it is to clean.
Yep! Suze Orman has me pegged. Debt and clutter go hand in hand apparently.
Thanks for taking the time to visit 🙂 Yes I think they are tied together!
