I know that I have struggled and still do when it comes to clutter, it quickly enters our homes from all angles and we somehow have to tame it into submission!
Often, this task seems impossible, especially as you struggle to see it coming in!

If you take steps to help tackle the clutter regularly then you are going to find that it doesn’t build up too much!
You have to have a plan to be on the lookout for clutter at every turn! It likes to hide in plain sight and often you walk straight past it without a second glance!

Tackling The Clutter In Our Homes
Anything that is in our home can become clutter!
It turns into clutter when it no longer holds a purpose in our lives! This is how it finds its way into our homes.
The important point is how easy an item can turn into clutter! It isn’t just rubbish, its other items too!
We have to see what every item that is in our home and the reason for its being there!
So, every item in our home must have a purpose, a job to do! Remove the job, you remove the usefulness of an item!
If something no longer has a home in your home it becomes clutter! The more clutter you have the more space you have to find to store that clutter!
If you get rid of the clutter the moment it becomes clutter, you will start to see your life in a different way!
Possessions themselves begin to have less meaning, the memories lie within our minds and we don’t need objects to remind us, we are happy with what we have!
How To Make A Declutter Last
If you want to make each declutter session last, reducing the need for frequent declutter sessions you have to become strict with what you allow into your home!
If you take your eye off the game, something will slip by!
Having simple rules help!
- Always deal with post the moment it hits your mat!
- If you buy something new to replace an old item, get rid of the old item!
- If you bring something new into the home something old has to go!
- Only keep something if it has a home inside your home, this will make you think twice about buying something new!
Tips To Clear The Clutter
Always be on the lookout for potential clutter in your home!
Knowing what to do with it when you find it is key!
- Keep your bins empty so you always have a place for your trash!
- Have a recycle bin ready and waiting for those items that you can recycle!
- Have a donate box ready to fill, this will help to ensure that if you need to get rid of items you have a plan for it!
It is possible that you can sell your clutter! What is one person’s trash is another person’s treasure!
However, don’t assume that leaving an item for months, sitting in the same spot because you haven’t got around to listing it for sale!
These items end up as clutter, either sell it or donate it to a charity to get the clutter out of your home!
