There are times that the needs of the family are important but making a living is also required. This is why there are many working families that are trying to manage family life and working. This isn’t always an easy combination; it is stressful to juggle running a home and working.
Home Organization For Working Families
You need to make sure that your home life is organized otherwise you might feel that you are coming apart at the seams. The easiest way to do this is to use a system that allows you to plan all the jobs that you need to do into your week around your family and your working life.
There are many different options that you can try from a home management folder to just writing your tasks down in a diary and sticking to them as if they were appointments.
Home Folders
There are many sheets and printouts that you can find on the internet that will help you create your home folder. The idea is that this folder holds the important items that will keep your family and your home running smoothly. There are lists that you can have that you can hold the information for all the people who make your home run easily, from doctors, plumbers and even the childcare providers that you use.
I am in need of updating my home folder, it has got cluttered and this means it is difficult to obtain the right information. I use my diary to plan my cleaning schedule for the week and this does keep me on track. But I am not worried if there are days when I don’t get everything completed. I am quite happy to just move it on to another day or just cross it off the list completely.
Family Time
It is important that you spend the time with your family too. What is important that you don’t spend all your time working. Allow for spending time with your family and your friends, this is your opportunity to relax.
You need to find a balance between the two because you will miss out on your children growing up and you will never get those years back again. So, this is why it is important that you make time for those special moments, so you never look back and wish you made more time for those memories.
Holidays And Birthdays
If you are working families then you are going to need to prepare for the holidays that your children will have from school. You will need to find them someone to care for them whilst you are at work. Sometimes this can seem that you are just working to pay for childcare, but it is sometimes the only option that you have. Make sure that you have claimed all that you can for your child care options, you might be entitled to some benefits, it never hurts to check.
When it is birthdays within your family you will need to plan these in advance. Not only do I add people’s birthday’s into my calendar I also add buying the card and present too, this reminds me of the task before it has arrived. It will be less stressful if you can plan what you need to do before the big event. It will be through planning that you will manage to survive some of the challenging years of being a vital part of working families.
