Sanitize Your Bathroom
Cleaning the bathroom is an important job for the health of your family and if you have people visiting your home. A clean bathroom will make all the difference to how you feel when you enter the room.
There are tasks that need to be completed on a daily basis that can help prevent the build-up of germs.
- Wipe the toilet down daily, this will prevent any germs growing and reduces the smell of this area.
- Wipe the sink down daily, even if it is with a towel, it removes the potential germs that can grow and build over a time.
- Wipe out the bath or shower after each use, it will then need less work when it comes to sanitizing your bathroom.
On a regular basis, you need to put a little more time into keeping your bathroom clean and germ free.
Weekly bathroom scheduling
I have a weekly schedule with my bathroom where I go over my daily cleaning schedule but I use cleaning products to make sure that my bathroom has a basic and hygienic cleaning.
Monthly bathroom scheduling
However, I go further than this, once a month I want the bathroom to sparkle even more. At this time I tackle the grout, this can sometimes look less than clean so I take to scrubbing, I don’t do much at a time and aim to complete my grout cleaning within the week. I spend about 5 – 10 minutes a day tackling this problem.
The toilet attention, I like my toilet to look clean and to smell fresh, this is why it forms part of my daily, weekly and monthly plan. Daily I wipe down the toilet, bleach, weekly cleaning means that is gets more of a scrub, and monthly my toilet and all around the appliance I will scrub making sure it gleams.
I sweep my floors on a daily basis; it removes the hair and fluff that quickly accumulates in this area. Once a week I quickly mop the floors and about once every six weeks I will get down on my hands and knees and scrub the floors making sure that all the corners of the room are clean and sanitized.
Bathroom scheduling
I schedule my bathroom cleaning into my diary; this allows me to know what area of my home is getting more attention that week. Once the week is completed, I move the date forward by around a month to schedule it into the diary for the next deep clean. This works the same for the floor scrubbing; I find that around the 6 week mark is the best for this task, not one of my favourite jobs but by planning into my schedule allows me to keep track of when this is due. This forward planning allows me to keep on top of some of the more in-depth cleaning that needs doing around the home. However, I always keep the amount of time spent in each area down to the minimum per day, this allows me not to notice the time, and it fits in around my working schedule.
