Organizing Your Purse Will Save You Time
Do you ever stand at the checkout and just can’t find the store card, or even your purse? It might be time to change and really organize your purse. This is something that’s been bugging me for some time. I have seen those purse organizers, where you can switch them from one bag to another without any hassle. The trouble is they don’t come free and I am not one for spending money on me and my bags are different sizes depending on my current mood and that affects what I can fit in.
Organizing Your Purse
I don’t want to spend money on accessories that might fit one bag and not another, I just want my bag to feel organized at all times, I don’t like the thought of it messy or not containing the items I want.
I have a fear of if I get an item out of my purse something else will fall out and this isn’t necessarily going to happen, but my organization needs to take this fear and any system that I put in place must work.
The best place to start is by emptying your purse; here you will see just what you have in your bag and the storage solutions that you will need to keep organized. For me it is tissues, (I keep these in my bag in case I need one), purse, store cards, receipts, lip-gloss and a pen. I don’t keep my diary in my bag, this sits next to my computer and if I am going shopping I also have my shopping list. Not having small children has reduced the amount of items I take with me, but I still need to keep all these items organized.
I need a place to coral the small items so they don’t fall all over my bag and I also need space for my purse as well as a system for receipts too. The answer is to use small makeup bags to hold the tiny items, this keeps them together and an old glasses case that my daughter made in school a number of years ago for my pens. I always have a cloth shopping bag folded up in my bag; this means that if I am out I don’t have to worry about having a plastic bag that can harm the environment. I have included a small envelope for all my receipts to keep these contained and controlled. I will show you my shopping list another day and how I sort this for an easy and practical way to shop stress free.
Store Cards Finding The Right Solution
I hate store cards, all stores seem to have these, they fill up my purse, I can never find what I am looking for; it is annoying and time-consuming. I want a system that I can use to store these without any hassle.
I have seen some different options on my search for a solution; from stamping a hole in the card and connecting them all on a key ring to having a filing system that holds the cards alphabetically. However, I haven’t found that perfect system, I am still looking for the solution. I do have a few ideas and I am hoping that you, the reader has the perfect solution and would love to share in the comments below.
The Results Work
I love the results and it saves time looking for things in my bag and it feels organized and is easy to keep tidy, I don’t feel embarrassed rummaging through my bag at the checkout.
Therefore, this organizing project is a success; it saves me time if I change bags or just knowing where things are when I want something.

Oh how I need this post! My purse was a black hole! I solved it in part by growing up my kids, (haha!)
and getting a smaller purse, thereby forcing me to purge. I hate store cards too. I have a few in my wallet, I just threw the rest away and have them look it up by my phone number. Less hassle for me.
LOL I loved the idea of throwing them all away! I just wish I could something seems to stop me! 🙂
Great tips. A messy purse can be a challenge. Thanks for sharing on Snickerdoodle Sunday!
