Do You Know What To Organize
Do you worry that you don’t do enough organizing or you just don’t have time or understand what it really means to organize and if there is some sort of magic reasoning that you are missing? Are you unsure as to what you should do to fit with the current trends of organizing, are you supposed to colour code your bookshelves or to have them alphabetical? Do you think that organizing is just an obsession that will pass and you have no desire to participate or are you just looking for order and simplicity in your life?
Organizing is about making things easier to find and to put away when you have finished and to make your home look tidy without the endless tidying and cleaning that often seems to come with running a home and a family.
What To Organize First
If you think your home needs more organization or you have too much clutter, it is probably a good idea to start organizing. It is about being able to find the things that you own and ensuring everything has a proper home, somewhere it belongs. Sometimes in society we buy more than we need and we fill our homes with too much stuff and don’t have the space or the room to store the items.
These items become unloved because we just have too many of them, if everything gets organized it makes finding what you want that much easier.
It is going to take time, organization is a slow process and the longer you take to perfect an area the more likely it will stay with minimal work. I don’t like being told I need more storage. It makes more sense to me to have less rather than more, there is less to clean, for one thing!
The Linen Closet
One of the worst areas that seems to attract problems is the linen closet, if it is not properly sorted it can become a dumping ground for items you don’t know where else to store and this can make things worse. I actually got rid of my linen closet because of this very reason, I have a chest of drawers for my bedding and towels are all now kept in the bathroom. This allowed me to have a home for my hoover and my carpet cleaner and it is easier to organize the bed linen in the chest of drawers.
Organize The Kitchen
Keeping on top of organizing in the kitchen and clearing the clutter from the work tops can speed up the cleaning process, giving you more time to do the things you want to rather than stuck cleaning for hours.
Organize The Bedroom
Keeping the bedroom organized can make going to bed a pleasurable experience rather than having to pile items around your room because you have items that need putting away and you just haven’t got round to that task yet.
Organize Kids Toys
Keeping your kids toys under control is one area that I hated, they could get these spread all over the house in the matter of minutes! But don’t despair, it is easier than you might think to help teach them to clean up and organize their toys in a way that is easy for them to find the items they need.
Therefore, if you’re worried about organizing your home, don’t. It is about finding the right balance for you and your family. The more you are able to put away in a home, the less cluttered your home will look and the easier it will be to take care of.
Yes, less stuff! Less time spent cleaning- yes!!
Such a simple idea but a powerful one!
