How To Create Time To Clean
Sometimes the biggest hurdle that you have to overcome when it comes to cleaning is actually finding the time to clean. Our lives are so full with other chores and activities, that actually finding the time to clean is often more difficult than it should. However, it is easier than you might think to create time to clean!
We often put cleaning at the bottom of the tasks we need to do, it is not one of the most enjoyable activities for most people, so naturally, it becomes less of a priority.
Why Make Time To Clean
One of the easiest ways to make time to clean is to increase cleaning in your mindset. If it is important to you, you will find the time that you need to clean!
These tips will help you refocus how you think about cleaning and help you prioritize it into your daily routines as something that you must do rather than something you should do!
- Understand keeping a clean environment where you live.
- You deserve to live in a clean home.
- Cleaning is not a chore it is a chance to show love and respect to your home.
- A clean home is good for you mentally, it makes you feel better.
By changing how you see cleaning will help you change your thoughts on cleaning. You are not cleaning for anyone else but you, when it comes to your home.
It is not something that you need to do to please your partner or your children, you clean because it is good for you to live in a clean home.
We do things for our children to show them the responsibility they need for the home they are living in. Teaching them that cleaning is part of life and something you must tackle.
How To Make Time To Clean
Changing our thoughts on cleaning helps us when we plan our time to clean. If you look at the process of cleaning as something that happens and makes you feel good rather than a chore, it makes cleaning more appealing.
Cleaning doesn’t have to take hours, it is easier to fit small cleaning bursts throughout your day. Not only does this make cleaning easier it also means you spend less time cleaning!
You’ll be amazed how much cleaning you can do in just five minutes, these short bursts of cleaning become habit and cleaning becomes, less of a chore!
If you clean as you go about your day, the need for cleaning becomes less apparent because you are doing it without thinking too deeply about the task.
Letting Go Of Perfection
Letting go of perfection is one area that I struggle with if it isn’t done perfectly why bother at all! I think this is one reason why when my kids were little I didn’t push them to do chores.
I was always looking for perfection and it just never happened, so I stop asking, I didn’t expect them to do things, but often they would anyway as they liked a clean home too!
I am learning that when I clean my home, it doesn’t matter if I don’t clean something perfectly, as long as it is better than what it was, then it is progress.

Creating A Realistic Plan
It is so easy to create a to-do list that is as long as your arm and hope to do it all in one day!
However, in reality, it is impossible to do so many things in such a short about of time.
Creating a realistic plan of your day, what you want to do and how you want to tackle it. Rather than just creating a list with no plan as to how your day will go.
The more you plan the easier it is to get the things that you need to do, done! There is the same amount of hours per day, that doesn’t change but how much you fit into that day will depend on your focus and how much you have planned.
My to-do list can have a maximum of 9 tasks in any day, often I don’t even fill all those spaces as I know I just won’t have time to complete them all!
The most important tasks are my top 4, these are the ones that I must do the rest are if I have time type of approach, and for me, that is working great!
I am being realistic with the time and the tasks I need to complete and that way I fit in so much more because I feel confident in completing what I have planned!
What You Must Never Do
Seriously, never think that you can multi-task, all that happens is you create a pile of half-completed tasks and finish nothing.
This is soul-destroying at its best and something that you should never consider no matter how short of time you are!
Therefore, if you are looking to find time to clean you need to change your focus on the process of cleaning. Don’t make it a chore, make it feel like you are doing something for you! It will make you feel better and you will begin to enjoy cleaning your home, especially, if you just think that the cleaning is for your benefit!
