How And Why To Clean Chemical Free
Do you question whether you should clean chemical free or is it something that you are still debating? I think this is a personal choice, what you decide is right for you and your family and it’s OK. You shouldn’t feel guilty about the choices you make!
It’s still possible to change your mind at a later date if you want too! Nothing’s set in stone with the products you want to use to clean your home!
Addressing The Why
There are so many stories that surround cleaning. What you should use and what you shouldn’t I thought I would look at this perspective first!
Why should you go chemical free?
There are lots of different reasons and you have to look at them all and make your choice. It is better if it is an informed choice and then you are aware of the facts and are able to make the decision that is best for you and your family!
- Chemicals affect the body.
- If you can’t read the chemical name, then do you know what that chemical is?
- Companies can’t guarantee that these chemicals that they use in cleaning products are safe for long-term use.
- Do you read the warning labels on cleaning products and follow the advice and instructions to the letter?
- Do they clean any better than other alternatives?
How To Clean Chemical Free
It is so confusing, with products claiming to clean different areas of our homes and the volume of products! Not forgetting the actual costs, having multiple different cleaning products that get our homes clean and germ-free!
I still have some products that I have been trying to use up. I’m not wasting money in throwing away the items. However, I am looking more closely at the tasks they do and if there is a better way in which to do this!
Don’t go through your cupboards and throw everything away. This is wasting money, make changes slowly, they are more likely to last!
I am still learning what products are good to use and to try and teach my family about the benefits of certain products!
However hard I try, my daughter is not convinced about using a white vinegar solution to clean her room she just doesn’t like the smell!
Looking At The Products
I am looking more at the labels of products, not just on food but cleaning too! If I can read the names of the ingredients I am more likely to research a product and see what those chemicals are and the purpose of using them in a cleaning product!
I used to love shopping for cleaning products, all these new and shiny products claiming the world when it comes to cleaning.
But not one particular product stood out from the rest! I also seldom read or followed the instructions on the bottle either!
Choosing Products That Work
In reality, we all want clean homes, without the hard work of cleaning! With multiple reasons for this, the most popular are a lack of time and too many commitments to fit in too much cleaning throughout the day!
We want products that are going to work but aren’t full of chemicals that are potentially harmful to our bodies or to the rest of our family!

There are commercially available greener products that have fewer chemicals and better for the environment! However, these are often higher in price and this puts me off!
Make Your Own Cleaning Products
The alternative is to make your own products and I think this is the direction that I want to head in!
I want to make more of my own cleaning products so I know what is in them but I want products that work! I am not looking for products that just won’t work or are too expensive to make!
Natural products are better for the environment and the health of your family. This makes so much more sense than pumping my home full of chemicals that I don’t know what the long-term effects are!
Therefore, the why for me is simple, I want a clean home that isn’t full of chemicals. I just don’t know what they are doing to my health, so I question the reason for using them! The how is a little more slow moving for me. I want to make these changes slowly in my home and to make cleaning products that work!
