Closet Clear Out
With summer fast approaching now is a great time to think about your closet clear out. This is a great time for the closet organization to begin. The most important part of closet organization is only having clothes that actually fit you in your wardrobe.
If you are looking to bring in summer clothes from storage, it will depend how you stored them as to the amount of attention they will need before going inside your closet. If they need a wash and a press before you can wear them then this is going to be the first thing to do, whilst you are getting them ready make sure that all buttons are firmly attached, and there are no holes or stains that need addressing.
A great organization tip for children is to sort their clothes into days of the week sections; this allows them to know what clothes they need to be wearing on a particular day. But getting the clothes in the right order and for the right days is going to take a few minutes each time clothes are put away saving you time in the morning.
Only put clothes in your closet that fit you and you will wear; if you are unsure about an item, try putting the coat hanger the wrong way round in your wardrobe, if you wear it turn the hanger back to your normal way. This system will highlight any clothes that you haven’t worn and could be removed from your wardrobe.
If you have clothes for special occasions make sure they are kept in individual protective covers, this will protect them from dust and to keep them clean for when you want to wear them.
Dusting in your wardrobe
You might think that this is an odd task to do, but you will need to periodically need to clean out your wardrobe and to dust the hangers. This will ensure that this area is kept as clean as the rest of your house.
If you keep shoes in the bottom of your closet they can also bring dirt and dust into your home and this can add to the problem. It is not going to be practical to clean shoes before putting them away, so by regularly cleaning out your closet you will be able to keep any of the dirt and dust to a minimum. Putting them inside your closet carefully can reduce the amount of dirt and dust released.
Deodorize shoes on a regular basis; not only will this keep them smelling fresh but also your clothes and wardrobe, too.
Closet organization
If you are looking for better ways to sort your clothes in your closet, then by putting them into sections and labelling these sections will make it easier to organize. Putting all items that are the same together, for example, jeans on a blue hanger, tops on a red hanger, will make it easier to identify items that you are looking for.
There are some items that need to be hung up in a wardrobe, but if space is at a minimum then there are options whereby some items are folded; if you are not great at folding, clothes there are tools that you can use to help the folding process.
