Why Your Time Is Precious
The time that we have isn’t pre-planned in the sense that we know when we will die and for that reason alone, it is important that we live every day. How often do you wish you had more time to do the things that you want and yet you spend hours a day wasting them doing nothing more than watching TV. If you are using your time wisely, then you will plan your day and schedule in all the plans that you want to do; if you are wishing you had more time there are things that you can do.
Planning Your Time Effectively
There are only 24 hours in the day, everyone has the same amount of time, it just depends how you choose to use your time that can have an effect on the amount of things you can accomplish.
I used to think of the word ‘time’ like it was a swear word, I always wanted more of it and there was never enough time to get the things I wanted to do, done. Then I worked out my problem. I wasn’t using the time I have effectively, I thought I had adequately planned out my time, but I was very much mistaken. I am not one for watching much TV especially during the day because I have so much work that I need to complete. However, I am easily distracted with other tasks and I would find that time had slipped by and I hadn’t done the things I wanted to do.
That is when it hit me, I had to find another way to organize my time. I needed to change how I planned my day. This is not something that I realized lightly, I mean I am the biggest planner out, I could probably spend the day planning and that was part of the problem, I wasn’t planning in detail. I didn’t give myself time frames to work and that meant I didn’t really know what to do at any particular time of the day.
I am glad to say that this has changed; I give myself half an hour ever morning to plan my day in detail. I have a rough weekly schedule that I formulate on a Sunday. I get the details for the things I need to do, from my month plan and I break this down into a rough week guide, this will include any appointments that I need to attend or any gifts which I need to purchase.
I then use the weekly guide to plan my day, not only does this give my day more structure, it also means that I can get on top of the other items that I want to complete.
Manageable Chunks
If you delegate times of the day for certain activities it is then possible to work out what to do and when. I have a short attention span, I think this is why I am able to jump off what I am doing and go off in a completely different tangent and not finish what I started; for this reason I keep my sessions short. I don’t want them too short but have variation to keep my brain engaged long enough to accomplish what I set out to do and not to go off topic.
Don’t plan too much to do, if you have spare time use it wisely, take a break; if you have underestimated the time a project will take, you have two choices, to leave it and schedule more time to work on it later or to adjust your schedule to allow you to finish the task in hand.
You book time with yourself to perform a task and it is important that you take your time and ensure that you realize how precious it is.
Therefore, don’t complain about the time you have, don’t become negative, change your ways and increase the time that you have to do the things which you want to do. Do this by planning and scheduling time to manage your tasks and avoid distraction.

Great point. Everyone has the same 24 hours.
It is how you use that time that is important! 🙂
