Weekend Ready
If you have more time at the weekends, where you want to do tasks that are more enjoyable and to spend time with your family, then it is a great idea to be ready in advance of the weekend.
Preparation is great for making the time more productive and interesting for you and your family. Planning the tasks that you want to do as well as the fun stuff. By planning the tasks it can actually give you more time because you know in advance what needs to be completed and this can motivate you.
Sometimes it is great to make a time line of doing the tasks, fitting them in with the fun stuff, or even before the family time, this allows you to push to get the task complete so the family time can begin.
Planning in the week for the weekend
If you are looking to do less work over the weekend, then one option that you have is to break some of the housework tasks over the week; this allows more time for other activities and can save you time and stress getting housework done when you want to relax and unwind from the week.
There are many tips you can use to reduce the time needed over the weekend, saving you valuable time. My favourite is my running shopping list; when I remember an item that I must get, I write it down on my note pad. This saves me time when I go shopping because I haven’t got to remember the items. This works as long as you remember to take the list with you when you go to the shops!
The secret of having more time
If you have ever wished for more hours in the day, then you might be surprised when you realise it is possible to manage so much more when you are in control of the time of the day and not letting time control you. Often there are times in the day when you have too many interruptions and nothing seems to get finished. When you schedule items to complete at work or home, it is important to make time to have a couple of hours spare each day, to allow for those days when something happens to mess up your day. By having that extra hour or so, will allow you to make up any lost time. But it is important that you are focused on the task in hand. Reward yourself only after the task is complete.
By completing your tasks during the week can mean having more time at the weekend, to do the things that you want and spend less time catching up on unfinished jobs scheduled during the week. It isn’t always easy to fit other activities in to your week, but you will see the benefit come the weekend, of all your hard work.
If you plan your time effectively, as well as pushing for those little jobs during the week, it can make your weekend easier.
