Make A Weekly Plan
If you are looking for a more organized life then you might consider looking at the way you plan your week. It is important that you know the upcoming appointments and tasks that you need to attend or just complete. This leads to a less stressful week and a plan that will make juggling your commitments easier, you will be aware of any clashes that you can change in advance and not have to deal with missed appointments.
Failing to plan is planning to fail.
Using a calendar to plan
It is possible to use a simple and basic calendar to plan your weekly commitments. It is not easy to break down the day’s events.
Nevertheless, it does enable clashes and appointments to show clearly enabling any changes in advance.
I use a very basic and cheap calendar that I note down appointments for the whole family, any events they can clearly see. They are then able to highlight any potential clashes that can occur before the event.
However, for me a calendar is not enough, I need somewhere to note down the items that are going to get me through the day.
Diary
For me, my diary is an essential tool to help plan my week, it tells me of all my commitments that I need to address during the week and then allows me to schedule in the other tasks that I need to complete. This allows me to see a visual representation of the week and if there are any up and coming events that I need to prepare for. It also allows me to plan and to check that all family members know what they are doing and when.
It is possible to have this in a small diary that you are able to carry around and this is something that I miss. I am a person that makes notes and a small diary is more of an annoyance to me, and it is a waste of time. I like a diary that I can write on and the paper is thick enough that the paper isn’t easily ripped or writing seeps through to the other side.
What I would love to have time is to plan in more detail, but this might become too strict and not allow for changes.
Computer plan
There are many diary’s that allow you to organize your life on your mobile device, for me I have tried this and even though I seldom go out without my phone, I just couldn’t connect with an electronic version. I felt that it just didn’t meet my needs. Many people use this version of a diary very successfully and find that it works for them.
Sometimes I wish I could use an electronic version too, because it might be less paper, but for now I am sticking with a system that works well for me at this time. When it comes to next year’s diary, who knows what will take my fancy. What is your preference when it comes to your weekly plan?
