Why Adventures In SEO Actually Changed My life
If you have heard about Lena Gott’s Adventures In SEO and wondered if this course is for you I wanted to tell you how this course changed my life.
Yes, it sounds dramatic, but it did. If you were like me and have some traffic and growth but the main source of your traffic isn’t SEO (search engine optimization) and you struggle with getting good traction on your pins, then you need this course.
I struggled to get any views from SEO I thought I understood about the basic principals of Pinterest and SEO but what Lena taught me blew my mind in how little I actually knew.
Doing Keyword Research Right
I wasn’t doing my keyword research on Google right; I wasn’t doing my Pinterest keyword research right either and this meant that my pins weren’t getting seen even though I have a great number of Pinterest followers my pins were falling flat.
I wasn’t getting the click throughs to my site and you all know that this is the most important metric.
You Need Traffic
Without traffic you are writing for no-one and this isn’t the idea when it comes to blogging, you want and need people to read what you have written.
You need this traffic to grow your email list, to grow your income and to grow your blog and you need to know how to do keyword research online in the right way to make a difference.
Affiliate links are included for your convenience. (This means if you purchase after clicking a link I will earn a small commission which won’t cost you a penny more!) Click here to read my full disclosure and privacy policy.
Getting The Right Results
I wasn’t seeing the results that I needed to, and I knew that had to change if I was ever going to make money with my blog.
Yes, I needed traffic now and with how Lena teaches the course you can get the short-term traffic from Pinterest and the long-term traffic that you need from your SEO work.
I needed to understand how to get my articles ranked by Google and to get my pins seen on Pinterest.
I had a couple of pins that was pulling in most of my traffic but that was it, the rest of them were falling flat and not getting the re-pins and click throughs that I wanted or needed.
This meant so many of my articles weren’t gaining traction and not being read by the people they were there to help.
I know the traffic from Pinterest isn’t always the best, it’s not traffic that will stay a long time on your site, well that’s true in some way, but if you create content that the reader wants then who’s to say how long they will stay?
Ideal Traffic
The ideal traffic is organic traffic, this traffic comes from search engines, it’s what people type into Google and other search engines and find what they are looking for in your content, and this is where you want the majority of your traffic from.
They have chosen to read what you have written from the description that’s pulled up on Google, (the meta data) and have clicked through to your site.
But getting your article to that top page of results is key in getting the best traffic.
Getting The Right Traffic
But how do you get that traffic, the ones that come from Google?
You have to know and understand how search engines work, well at least the basics so that you are positioning your work in the right way to help you get the right traffic.
The right traffic that will help to grow your blog and your income.
While its great to think that someone has found your article and all you did was write from what you know, you can position it better and get found quicker by making sure your content is written in a way that Google can find it and recommend it to others.
Lena Gott Who Is She
Lena’s course teaches you this in a way that you can follow, she doesn’t teach with loads of notes and slides that are difficult to put into practice but with easy to follow videos where she goes through the steps and ideas that have helped her to write articles that bring in the traffic to her site and to help grow her business and blog.
She is a mom with 3 children who wanted to stay at home with her kids but also help provide an income for the family.
She writes articles for her own blog What Mommy Does and she is amazing at what she can do with an article! I love her site.

Lena’s Type Of Training
Lena’s style of teaching does rely heavily on video and that isn’t every one’s cup of tea and that’s OK, its one of the reasons why I like to tell people about her free training, it helps people to make the connection with a person in the first instance and see if their teaching style is a good fit for them.

What Lena teaches in these modules is amazing, there is so much information and a lot of work to do on your part.

Knowing How To Write For Your Reader
The benefits of having a way to plan your writing is key, you want to be able to get your message across to the people it’s going to help.
Your writing needs to answer a question, it needs to give the reader a reason for reading. Blogging isn’t about telling a tale, it’s about connecting with your audience and giving them the answers, they are looking for.
This is the only reason they found you and want to stick around, they need you to help them and that has to be one of the main reasons you are writing for, to help solve a problem for your reader.
Competing With Other Bloggers
But to do this well you have to know what they need and word it in a way that will be found by your ideal reader.
With so many potential articles and blog posts that are in existence you have a fight on your hands to get to that top position.
You have to know what you need to say and how you need to say it so that Google puts you in a prime position and gives you the traffic that are looking for.
My Life Changed After Adventures In SEO
How did Adventures In SEO change my life?
I know I started this article with this statement and believe me I think it’s 100% true.
Whilst my blog was growing it was painfully slow, and most of my traffic was coming from Pinterest and from one or two pins.
I wasn’t getting the traffic from either Google or Pinterest that I know I needed, and I couldn’t understand why.
I had done other courses but nothing specific on keywords or how to really do keyword research for blogs.
I thought I Knew What I Was Doing
I thought I had a basic understanding of keyword research for SEO it turns out I really knew nothing and any attempt that I had made in the past to even remotely pretend to look like keyword research was a complete waste of my time.
Not only did I not know what I was doing any effort I was putting in was completely wrong and one of the reasons why I wasn’t gaining any traffic from SEO or from Pinterest for that matter.
I was focusing on keywords and long-tail keywords that I wouldn’t have a chance to rank for and this was one of the reasons I wasn’t showing up in those top spots for the keywords that I was using.
My keyword research was failing, I didn’t know what I was doing, and it showed.
I Started To Question My Abilities
I was starting to think you couldn’t make money blogging without blogging about blogging.
I was starting to think the time and the effort that I was putting in was in vain. I knew I needed to grow my traffic and I couldn’t do this on my own.
My own efforts where falling short and I knew that if I wanted to make money blogging and not about blogging, I had to change my approach and I had to do it fast.
Lena’s Course Allowed Me To Continue My Dream
It was at this point where I met Lena, (not in person and not as a friend) but as someone who seemed to speak my language and I could understand what she was saying and how it made sense.
I got what she was saying, I understood her process and something that was holding me back suddenly started making sense.
I just had to apply what I was learning to my process and I saw a difference, my organic traffic started to grow, and my pins weren’t a complete flop, they were actually gaining traction.
What Lena was teaching me was working and working well, I was no longer stuck with my traffic and I was actually starting to see people coming to my site for other articles and not just the top two.
My organic traffic was growing and my Pinterest traffic too.
What This Meant To Me
With the increase in traffic I started seeing an increase in my income.
I know that blogging is a passion but it can only be a passion for so long without seeing some sort of return, I needed to see the money coming in so not only could I afford to pay all the bills associated with blogging but I could also start paying myself a decent wage each month.
It felt amazing that I finally started to see the income from my blog and what’s great is I know how to make this work long term because of all the other tips I’ve learnt from Lena’s other courses that I’ve taken.
Take a look at my article for Traffic Transformation, another course from Lena.
I’m a total fan of her courses and she speaks in an easy to understand way, she doesn’t fluff anything out with technical information that really is too difficult to understand.
This is why I recommend this course to anyone who is looking to learn about how to gain organic traffic as well as Pinterest traffic in a non-technical way.
