The Best Home Organization You Need
Getting the right system in place for your home is key, don’t assume that this is an easy solution that will suddenly turn your life around. Yes, being organized is great, having routines and schedules in place so you know what you are doing. However, it is not something that you are going to accomplish in one afternoon or seamlessly follow a completely new system without some trial an error. Having a realistic approach to your home organization and understanding and meeting your needs is more beneficial in the end, than changing everything and expecting it to work first time.
Creating Home Organization That Works
You have to know what is going to work for you and not simply assume that just because you have seen it in a glossy magazine it doesn’t mean it will be the answer you are looking for.
Working out what you need is the first step to becoming better at organization. If you have lived in the chaos, you might not always see the problem or even know how to solve it. What is important is looking at how you work and knowing what is going to work for you. It is not about rushing out and buying more storage options, because these can end up as clutter too, if you don’t use them properly.
You must take it slowly; you might want it all organized now but in reality, this isn’t going to solve problems because you haven’t had time to develop your new habits. Adding in a whole house worth of organization will end up in something falling by the wayside, and that something might be the most important habit to learn.
Designate the time when you do your routines, it might be at a set time or before or after another habit or event in your home. For me the evening meal signifies the kitchen clean up, this is the time that I will make sure that the kitchen is clean and tidy for the evening, then just before bed my husband always washes up the last of the cups and bleaches the dishcloth overnight. It becomes a habit, you know what you need to do and it follows on nicely. I know some people who like to do their tasks at set times, and it is finding out that time for you.
Why Home Organization Is Great
If you have ever run around your home looking for an item that you are sure that you had or get a call because you missed an appointment again, then it is time to get organized. It is not difficult, it doesn’t crush your creative style but it will free up more time and you won’t get “that look” for always being late. Home organization is about taking control of your life and making it work for you and not against you.
It allows you to do more because you are not forgetting things you need to do or cleaning more than you have to. Home organization can actually save you time and money when it comes to cleaning, there is often less to clean and it is quicker too.
It is about getting to this point one-step at a time. There are ways you can organize your home and your time, but it is finding a system, which allows you to work with your home and your schedule. It must fit both your schedule and your home, because an organized home that doesn’t fit and meet your needs will quickly become unloved and cluttered again.
If a system stops working then you must change what you are doing; trying to push a system that used to work into a changing world doesn’t work, you have to re-assess your needs and change how you do things, to work out what needs amending or tweaking and what can stay the same.
Therefore, it is important to conquer your clutter and take control of your home, but doing this process slowly will ensure the changes you make are working and fitting in with the needs of the household.

Yep, I’ve been guilty of the “Buy Me and I will Fix You” thing. Nope, didn’t work! Now I’m working on purging, seriously and surely. Organization will come after I’ve eliminated everything I can from my home.
That moment when it is a mindless habit that you JUST DO is so wonderful.
I know I love those moments when you realize that you have done the tasks without thinking about them! 🙂
I do get tempted sometimes to buy these products but I hate spending money so it stops me! 🙂
