While we all know that it is important to fit fitness and exercise into our lives, sometimes we make it more difficult, we try to put others before our own health and make up excuses as to why we can’t find the time. I am not one for spending money on items that more than likely won’t be used but I am not going to sit down longer than necessary, I am going to put my needs and my health first and this means finding time to include fitness and exercise in my life on a daily basis.
Fitness And Exercise Routines
It is important to talk to your doctor before embarking on a fitness and exercise regime, once you have the all clear then you need to find ways to move to ensure that you are burning calories and becoming fitter.
Often the most difficult thing to do when you start exercising is fitting it into your day. It is easy to make excuses and to find reasons why you can’t exercise and while you might feel that you have achieved your goal, in fact all you are doing is cheating yourself from the exercise that you need. It is important to learn to put yourself first, this is something I have struggled with for many years, I believed that I had to put my family first, before me and whilst as a mum this is often the case, I forgot the most important person to take care of and that was me.
However, as my children are now older and I have struggled with different aspects of my life, I am committing to this and I am putting my needs first. I am ensuring that I exercise and fill my body with food that is good for me and not just what my body craves. I have fuelled my body for too long on what I perceive as being nice and yet I don’t get that buzz and so I need more, I love food, and it has held me hostage for too long, I am now taking back that control.
How To Fit Fitness And Exercise Into Your Day
You have to find a time in your day that you are able to focus on what you need to do. I am a night person with my work, I can write into the early hours of the morning and I dislike breaking this up and trying to put exercise into this part of my day. I also found that once my laptop is on I am not very good at stopping so I decided, I need to do my exercise before the laptop goes on. If I have appointments or work I need to do then I am stopping myself from turning the laptop on until after I have done my exercise, it might mean getting moving quicker in the morning but it is something that I am pushing forward with.
You have to find that time in your day when you won’t allow the daily tasks to take over and you have to make it a habit, one that you do regularly because then it is something you will do automatically.
Make it part of your day and explain to your family that you need time too; it might be, if you have young children, when they have a nap or involve them in the exercise.
Your health is important and finding that time when you can schedule in some exercise remember it is important to stick to these times as it will allow you to build them into your routine and form part of your daily schedule.
Therefore, if you are struggling to find the time to fit in your fitness and exercise into your day, look at what you are doing and ensure that you carve out some time when you put yourself first and exercise.
