Making myself accountable and to show the future is possible with the goals and the resolutions that I made at the beginning of the year, I can’t believe that a month has already gone by. I wanted to start this year with a plan where all of my goals are accountable and achievable during the course of the year. It will give me the opportunity to see how far I have come on this journey and give me the chance to put any issue back on track before it becomes a problem.
The Journey So Far
This has been an amazing month for me; with so much happening, sometimes my focus on the bigger picture wanders. I am so lucky that I have a group of friends who are in the blogging world too who can guide me back onto the right path in moving forward and making the positive steps towards completing my goals this year.
I can hardly believe that I am here again looking back over my journey through the first month of the year and addressing those goals and desires that I have for the whole of the year. I have set resolutions before but they have been too vague, not enough detail to set realistic and manageable concepts to see through to the end of the year, whereas this year I have purposely looked at ways for me to track my progress and to make adjustments accordingly.
So many people are visiting and reading the words that I have written, I feel so blessed. I love to write but I feel so much more complete when others can read what I have written and are able to connect with me on a deeper level.
For this goal of getting more people reading my content is working and I am on target for the month, this is important that I continue to keep this side growing over the next few months.
Social media is an important tool, it allows people to connect; for me I wanted to grow this area and with the changes always occurring and making it more difficult to reach new people, sometimes it is difficult enough to reach those readers who want to read the words or see the pictures you have shared. I do have more progress that I need to make in this area and I think at some point in February I will have to put together a more detailed plan of action, this will get me back on track.
The readers who have subscribed to my weekly email list has doubled, this is fantastic but it is still a few short of where I hoped, to that end I really need to push this aspect that bit further this coming month.
For me the best way to connect with my readers is through email, it is important to communicate the new items and to chat on a more personal note with those people interested in what I have to say. This makes email one of the most important aspects of blogging, being in direct contact with your readers means you are not relying on social media or search engines to bring in the traffic. However, it is important that you give your readers the option to unsubscribe at any point.
I have seen positive steps in the right direction this month and I hope that February’s journey is even more fruitful. It is important to understand that it is not easy blogging; there is a lot of hard work that goes into creating a site that is useful and readable. If you are looking for the option to write a blog and to never make a revenue from this venture then it is little more than a hobby, for me it is a full-time job, which I love with all my heart and I am so thankful my journey has taken me this far.
This month, in relation to my goals, has been difficult to look at the final figures and to see that some goals have achieved their target where others have fallen short. However, it gives me time to address the situation and to put feasible plans into place to address any short falls.
