Is another month already over, what happened to March, it has just flown by! My journey so far is not very exciting, there are slips and turns in the way but what it does for me is to assess how far I have come and how much further I have to go to get to my goal. What is important is making the mistake of not looking at these during the year, seeing if there are any ways where I lose focus on the goals, it is about accountability, and pushing through some of the difficult times to get to my goal successfully.
Moving Forward With My Journey
It is about assessing where I am and where I want to be at this point in the year, questioning if I have met my goals. I set out at the beginning of the year a set of goals, with the thought of having enough structure to accomplish them. However, as the year progresses I am realising that I haven’t put enough detail in how I am going to meet these goals and the push and the drive that I need to get there on days when things don’t go to plan.
I am realising quickly that I am going back to the planning stage with some more detailed focus on where I am going and how I am going to get there. I don’t want to fail on my goals or flounder any longer with the hope that something will happen and I suddenly reach my goals; if I want to succeed I have to put the work in and plan even more thoroughly than ever before.
There is no option that I won’t succeed in my goals, I just need to reevaluate my journey and make sure that there is no room for error or lack of focus on the tasks in hand.
Growing My Readers
I must grow the readers that come to my site, I must connect with them in a way that wants them to come back time and time again. It is only with this support, as well as the writing that I do each and every day that gives my readers something new to read, something new to think about and some interesting facts along the way.
Unfortunately, as with everything else in life I need the site to support itself, to do this, and to start making a good living I need to attract more readers every single day.
At the beginning of the year I set a target of the amount of visitors per day and whilst I am still on track to meet that goal I need this as the most important factor, one that, if there is a day I need more readers. I’ve an action plan in place as to how to tackle the problem and publicize my blog more, putting my words in front of even more people.
Growing Social Media
While growing the organic views, the ones that come direct from a search engine inquiry, are extremely important and there are measures which I am going to take to address this with a plan of updating posts in accordance with Webmaster Tools and Google Analytics’, in reducing bounce rates and improving placement on search engine searches.
Education and understanding any changes that come into play are important, like the recent announcement that Google + is not going to stay around, but until the time it does go, it is an important social media outlet to share posts and information to potential readers.
With this in mind, I intend to have in place social media plans for all the social media, which I’m involved with, I already post 10 times a day on Facebook, but I want to analyse my results to ensure that any posts I am sharing are what my readers are looking for. This is similar to Pinterest where I share a set number of my own pins per day and selections from other people.
However, I need to have this type of plan for Twitter and Google +, this will make sure that I am reaching the potential audience who is out there looking for articles and information which is available on my blog.
Therefore, this checking my focus and making me accountable to reach my goals has served a purpose already, it is allowing me to see the areas where I am slipping and giving me the opportunity to succeed where I might have failed.
