Planning To Start Living Your Dreams
Your dreams and goals, your desires in life are important, the only person that stops you reaching your goals and dreams is you. It is important to take the steps that you need so reaching your goals is possible.
Planning is the key to all the actions you need to take; without taking control of the time you have, you won’t be able to fit in all the important tasks that you need to do.
Look at your planning, are you in control of your time? Are you planning effectively?
Without taking control of your planning you won’t be able to effectively ensure that you are tackling all aspects of your goals and dreams. You need to remember the bigger picture, breaking down the tasks allows you to manage so much more.
You can’t start living your dreams if you don’t plan the direction that you want to take or the journey which you will need to travel to get there! You achieve this direction through your planning, the steps that you need to take to get to the desired results and goals.
Are You Fighting With Procrastination?
Sometimes it isn’t easy, you have planned your tasks and yet you can’t find the motivation you need to attack your plan of action. You have to find out why you are procrastinating, what is stopping you attack your goals and dreams?
It could be fear of succeeding, so you self-sabotage your own efforts so that you don’t move on to the next stage. This is something that I found I was doing, I just couldn’t face the next stage of my journey, it was too scary.
However, I identified these and worked through them, sometimes it meant breaking things down further, other times it just meant working towards my fear and facing the next phase head on.
Planning isn’t perfect, life has a way of throwing things and distractions into your path, and it is how you deal with them that is important. Some you can put off, others you need to take immediate action.
Deciding the course of action and then adding this to your planning schedule is the only way forward, sometimes it means that reaching your goals and dreams face delays, but never forgotten.
Fighting procrastination is important, dealing with bumps in the road is just part of life, testing your desires, goals and dreams.
Finding Your Motivation
If they are your dreams and goals you should have that deep down desire to want to reach them and to succeed. However, sometimes on this path you find there are times that you have to tackle tasks that are difficult and finding the motivation and the will-power to complete these is different.
The answer, if you are struggling with motivation, the task is too big. Break things down further and find rewards that you enjoy to motivate you to complete.
Sometimes I can have very limited attention span, I know this, and I use this to ensure that the task I need to complete, or at least knowing the task that I need to tackle isn’t going to take too long. If it is something I dislike I know that maximum I have fifteen minutes before my mind starts to wander.
My motivation comes from knowing that my tasks won’t take longer than this to complete. That I can have a reward or a break at this point before moving on, even if it is on the same task.
What Planning For The Future Gives Me
Planning has given me the drive to succeed, I never thought my dreams could come true. I never would believe that this journey could take me so far, yes as the time progresses my dreams and goals change but only because I am meeting those important milestones along the way.
The planning is the best part, it is hard to fit everything in, but it is worth the effort that you need to plan your dreams. The hardest part is acting on your plans, it is so easy to make excuses as to why your plans failed, why you failed at your goals. The hardest thing to do is acting on those plans, taking them and using them to start living your dreams and having the life that you want.
I know that I am going to face problems and to deal with challenges along the way, but I’m prepared for that, it doesn’t scare me as much as it used to. I know that I can take these bumps and deal with them. They might mean that I have to adjust my plans, make tweaks to what I planned for, but that is all part of taking charge of my future and driving towards my goals.
Therefore, as we come into the new quarter, take this time to act upon those dreams you have, make plans as to how you intend to reach them. Don’t be afraid to start living your dreams. Ensure that you plan; when something happens to knock you off course, adjust your plans and continue moving forward. Sometimes it can feel like you go backwards a few steps, but that is OK, it gives you the opportunity to embrace those challenges and to learn from them too!
